Landscapes At Large 2004

9 Large Landscape paintings were displayed in a solo exhibit at Modern Arts Midwest in Lincoln sep. 2004.

Excerpts from the Artist's Statement:

The series is called Landscapes at Large because

1) the canvasses are extra large.

2) the subject is broad and open, inspired by the western plains.

3) the application of paint is loose, free and unconfined.

Painting with an action style of painting, which was introduced in the mid-20th Century by a New York school of painters called Abstract Expressionists, enabled me to capture the raw energy of the blowing winds, the waving grasses, the rolling hills, and the deep textures of the hills and grasses of the western plains.
